Tiles Tutorial – Your Expert Guide from the Tile Boutique Top Tiles Showroom in Chennai

An Intelligent Investment
Cost is usually the first factor to be taken into account when making a large purchase. You want to receive a decent return on your investment while staying within your budget. Fortunately, ceramic tile has the lowest life cycle cost of any flooring option in addition to being aesthetically pleasing.
In a research project, independent cost consultant Emily Lorenz, PE, F-ACI, examined the life cycle costs of several flooring types, such as vinyl, tile, hardwood, laminate, carpet, and other common options. The analysis concluded that tile was the most economical flooring option after evaluating the price of initial installation, replacement costs when necessary, and custodial maintenance costs over each option’s full life cycle. Over the course of a building’s life, the most costly flooring types were sheet vinyl, VCT, and poured epoxy.
Why Tiles Are Better Than Other Materials
- Tiles
- Hardwood
- carpet
- Laminate
- Vinyl

Tile costs only ₹79 per year per square foot, making it the most economical flooring option compared to all other finishes.

Natural hardwood flooring costs around ₹84 per year per square foot, making it more expensive annually than tile.

With an estimated useful life of five years, carpet costs approximately ₹139 per year per square foot, making it significantly more expensive annually than tile.

Laminate flooring costs about ₹154 per year per square foot, and its estimated lifespan is only one-third that of tile—making it both costlier and less long-lasting.

Vinyl alternatives cost around ₹147 per year per square foot, which is nearly double the annual cost of tile flooring.
